PediatriCare Associates providing care to newborns, children, teens and young adults in Bergen, Morris, Passaic Counties of New Jersey as well as surrounding areas of New York.

We are proud to announce that lactation consultant Tara Daly RN, BSN, IBCLC will be available to meet with new mothers and babies at our Fairlawn and Pompton Plains locations. Please call 201-791-4545 to schedule an appointment with Tara.

In the future, we hope to have breast-feeding classes as well as other educational classes for our patients and their families.

Beginning on January 4th, PediatriCare Associates will be transferring the inpatient care of all of our pediatric patients that are admitted at The Valley Hospital to the Pediatric Hospitalist Service. This will not affect our direct care of newborns who are admitted to the main Nursery.

The Hospitalist Service will be admitting our patients, directing the day-to-day care and providing all discharge information and instructions. Nationally, this has been shown to improve the care of inpatients and raise the level of satisfaction of parents.  The use of the Hospitalist Service allows for minute-to-minute decisions to be made while your child is hospitalized.  Moreover, the Pediatric Hospitalists are in the hospital and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Pediatric Hospitalists are Board Certified pediatricians that specialize in the care of hospitalized infants, children and young adults. They will aid in the coordination of care regarding other specialists during the hospitalization and will work closely with our practice to provide the comprehensive and personalized care that you expect from PediatriCare Associates.  In fact, this is presently the model of inpatient care that we follow with our hospitalized children at The Hackensack University Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center.
It is important to note, however, that we will continue to visit all hospitalized children during their stay in the hospital, as well as receive daily updates and a complete summary upon discharge.
This is just one more step in our designation as a Pediatric-Centered Medical Home, (PCMH): which is a way of organizing primary care that emphasizes improved care coordination and communication to transform primary care into "what patients and parents want it to be."
If you have any questions regarding this decision, please reach out to our office.
PediatriCare Associates

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) announced that PediatriCare Associates has received recognition from the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long-term participative relationships. The practice is recognized at level three of the program, the highest achievable level. The program’s standards emphasize enhanced care through patient-clinician partnership.

Welcome to PediatriCare Associates. It is our goal to provide you and your family with the most comprehensive, progressive, consumer oriented health care available. Watching healthy children grow and develop is as gratifying to us as it is to you. In essence, we are equal partners in a process that is on-going until your children are on their own. Whether it's your child's first visit to one of our three locations, or just a routine well–child checkup, we strive to make sure you and your child are always comfortable and informed. We take the time to talk with parents and care givers to help you understand your child's needs, and we equip you with the knowledge necessary for promoting a lifetime of optimal health and wellness.

What to Wear

* Dress infants and children warmly for outdoor activities. Several thin layers will keep them dry and warm. Clothing for children should consist of thermal long johns, turtlenecks, one or two shirts, pants, sweater, coat, warm socks, boots, gloves or mittens, and a hat.

* The rule of thumb for older babies and young children is to dress them in one more layer of clothing than an adult would wear in the same conditions.... continued
