H1N1 Vaccine Update Minimize

Many people are concerned about the novel H1N1 swine flu virus. The Centers for Disease Control has determined that this new H1N1 virus is contagious and is spreading from person-to-person, probably like seasonal flu. The symptoms of the H1N1 flu virus in people are similar to the symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. A significant number of people also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. Most people who have been sick with this virus in the U.S. have recovered at home without treatment.

We have the H1N1 swine flu vaccines in stock and available!
Please contact us via e-mail to schedule your child's novel H1N1 swine flu vaccination. The e-mail address is FLUPCA@gmail.com.

Your child CANNOT RECEIVE the nasal live H1N1 Flu Mist if he or she:

  • is younger than 2 years of age.
  • has asthma or a reactive airway disease or has wheezed in the last 12 months.
  • has a metabolic disease, diabetes, or disease of the lungs, heart, kidneys liver, nerves, or blood.
  • has gotten vaccinated with any live vaccine within the past 30 days - such as MMR or Varivax.

Your child CANNOT RECEIVE the nasal live H1N1 Flu Mist or H1N1 injection if he or she:

  • has a serious allergy to eggs or egg protein.
  • has moderate or severe illness with or without fever within the last 3 to 4 days.
  • has ever had a serious reaction to a previous dose of flu vaccine.
  • has ever had Guillain-Barre  Syndrome (a type of temporary muscle weakness) within 6 weeks after receiving  a flu vaccine.

We will only be scheduling H1N1 vaccine clinics on weekends. Nurses will be giving the vaccination by either nasal mist or injection. Patients will not be seeing a physician. Please understand that due to the unprecedented need for H1N1 vaccines, our supply may be limited. In addition, as most of you know, we have been vaccinating with seasonal flu since August, and will continue to vaccinate till our supply is exhausted.
