Choosing a pediatrician is an important and personal decision and we want you to feel at ease with the care you and your child will receive.

Welcome to PediatriCare Associates. It is our goal to provide you and your family with the most comprehensive, progressive, consumer oriented health care available. Watching healthy children grow and develop is as gratifying to us as it is to you. In essence, we are equal partners in a process that is on-going until your children are on their own. The impact that we both have on your children cannot be emphasized strongly enough - each day provides us with the opportunities to learn more about our children and ourselves.

Whether it's your child's first visit to one of our three locations, or just a routine well–child checkup, we strive to make sure you and your child are always comfortable and informed. We take the time to talk with parents and care givers to help you understand your child's needs, and we equip you with the knowledge necessary for promoting a lifetime of optimal health and wellness.

To help you get acquainted with our practice, we have provided important information you need on our website. Please browse these pages to learn more about our skilled doctors, services, office details, commonly asked questions, new patient forms and to eventually request an appointment.

Our pediatricians and staff, in our three locations, believe exceptional care is obtained when there is an on–going relationship between the doctor, staff and patient and family. We want to be lifelong partners in your child's health. We achieve this goal by listening to your questions and concerns, and educating you on how to promote a healthy lifestyle for the entire family.

When you choose PediatriCare Assocciates, you can feel confident that you are teaming with knowledgeable, compassionate doctors and staff who have dedicated their careers to child–focused health care. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with questions or concerns. Our pediatricians and nurturing staff look forward to meeting you and your family.

Enterovirus D68 Update

EV68 is a virus that can cause severe respiratory illnesses, especially in asthmatics. There have, however, been numerous hospitalizations in the Northern New Jersey area from EV D68.

Infection with EV68 can start quickly with the rapid onset of cold symptoms and sometimes with difficulty breathing. In one small study, only 22% of those with EV68 had fever. It is highly likely that many kids contract the virus and react to it like they would with any other cold – without getting very sick. Most children with EV68 will not require hospitalization or even evaluation in the office.

While hospitals have the capability of sending samples to the CDC for testing, this is mainly for those requiring hospital admission. Routine testing is not available in the office setting.

We want to emphasize that MOST CHILDREN WHO CONTRACT THIS VIRUS WILL PRESENT WITH REGULAR COLD SYMPTOMS THAT ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM OTHER COLDS. As with any illness, please call our office if your child is having a hard time breathing, is not staying hydrated, or if you are not comfortable with his or her appearance.

A special note to parents of asthmatic children:

Have a very low threshold for starting your child’s yellow zone management if your child begins to show symptoms of a cold! Please call or email the office if you need any of your asthma medications refilled.

General advice for infection control:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after changing diapers.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid kissing, hugging, and sharing cups or eating utensils with people who are sick.
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
